Beau Chien Bearded Collies is located in south central Montana in the city of Billings. I have had dogs all my life. I was raised on a ranch in Eastern Montana and lived a good share of my life around animals of all kinds. My children grew up with our German Shepherds and later Bearded Collies. Now we have added  three Polish Lowland Sheepdogs ( Polish Owczarek Nizinny),a Border Collie and Boston Terrier.

My husband is retired and I work part time in my practice. Therefore we have more time to travel and have included our dogs. We participate in conformation or breed ring, obedience, agility, herding, and tracking. My goal is to produce sound Bearded collies and PONs that are both physically and mentally able to perform as pet or show dogs.

When talking about the history of Bearded Collies and PONs it is difficult to distinquish between legend and fact.  It is believed that the PONs were known in Poland from the 13th century and were brought to Scotland and bred to Scottish herding dogs to produce the Bearded Collie.  Both breeds almost became extinct.  Bearded collies were restored by Mrs Wilison and her bitch Jeannie and PONs by Dr Danuta Hryeniewicz and her dog Smok.  The Bearded Collie Breed Standard was was adopted in 1987.  The breed stand for the Polish Lowland Sheep Dog was adopted in 2000.

We have PON puppies born 4/27/09 call 406-698-0528  or mtbeardie@yahoo.com
